The Good, The Bad and the darn pretty day...

First things first, Daisy our pet rat is going to be fine! We went to the vet and Daisy definitely has allergies. I've put her into private confinement (thanks, Island girl) and I think she'll be all right. She got a steroid shot (we could really hear her scream in the hall, poor baby) and we have to call in on Monday if she's still got open sores and is itchy. Otherwise, she's fine. Phew!

In other news, I submitted some work to an art group only to be tossed aside like yesterdays news. They even wrote to my husband (instead of me...shows how much attention they gave my stuff...hmph). Anyway, I'll submitt again next month and in the mean time, submit to at least 50 other companies. I am determined, folks. And yes, it hurts your pride but what is pride, anyway? It's better to keep that Frank Sinatra song in your head...the one my mom first told me about...

I esp. like the line "Each time I find myself flat on my face,

I like that the original uses some of Rupard Kiplings poem "If".

Started reading "If" and must say, I'm very glad for writers like these. I have several books of quotes. One I can't recall the name of but was a found book...apparently, someone in the 60's was in a hospital and they would give these beautiful gold puffy books to their patients. It's rather large too and has some odd/interesting illustrations from the 50's/60's. I also have a little book of quotes from 1924 called "The Book of Courage: A little book of brave thoughts". This gets me through tough spots too.
