It's Sunday afternoon...

I'm sick, the girls are sick, Jon's sick...we are one happy family. I guess the good thing of us all being coordinated with being sick is we'll all be over it around the same time. It's funny even though I'm sick I still move around and get things done. Just feeling all plugged up. THANK GOODNESS it's not the flu. I can tolerate runny noses, scratchy throats and slight fevers. But I hate the flu....just the washing alone is enough to drive me up the wall.

Anyway, I'm snappy today and grumpy but I feel better now that I had a shower and some veggie soup. Last night, Jon's mom made chicken soup and it was the BEST. Even Lydia gobbled it down. Norrie was being fussy but she ate all the buttered bread. I'm glad we only live two blocks away, thankfully. I wish my mom was that close...hint, hint mom! : )

I finally sorted through the bedroom and arranged the shelves a tad...they were becoming a bit obnoxious. Now, I have to attack the dining room. If I can get that at a 50% level of neatness, I'll be happy. I don't expect miracles but as long as it doesn't look too toddlerized that will be good.

Art wise, have been busy organizing my work and trying to get things ready to send to a company or two. Once I get that out of the way, I'll be able to focus on my book. Plus, I'm doing some commissions. Phew. That and art classes, I feel complete and not like I'm being untrue to my self.

I'm so glad we're celebrating Jon's mom's b-day to day! That means cake...I can only hope for chocolate but that might be asking too much. But I'll take lemon too. Cake sounds good. I must be hungry...for some reason I feel hungry even though I'm sick.

I missed the play, "Porches" because of being sick. But that's all right. I'll look for the screenplay and read it. I love reading plays. I used to do that a lot in college. I'd read them and imagine what they looked like and what the characters would be like. Very fun.

"Porches" is by a local, apparently. He wrote it based on Altoona, PA. That's why I was curious about it. I've been thinking a lot about theater and about volunteering. I did some behind the scenes stuff in college and a bit of acting too. I enjoyed it and it's mostly about meeting people and having a good time. As well as the art stuff too! : ) So, I'll see what happens. Might be fun to do for the Holidays, etc.

Also, I've been seriously thinking of homeschooling my gals. I wish there was a Waldorf school around, but even if there was I don't think I could afford it. They are are the best, of course. Everything is taught from the basis of art. Very interesting theory and special attention to the child. Maybe I'll just read up on it more and incorporate with my own kids.

Cat print
5 by 7 inches

Cat print I did the other night. I used a water based ink...so, this needs some sort of fixative. Well, the gals are calling me. Gotta run.
