Illustration Friday: Dance

I was going to sell this dancing Guinea pig but I'm going to keep it instead! It turned out better than I thought. I really think it's because I used 300lb watercolor. I am beginning to really love this weight as it doesn't buckle, doesn't need to be stapled down and is very absorbant. If you let a little paint "sit" on your paper with water you can get all sorts of interesting effects. Plus, it's more forgiving when you need to scrub out a color, etc.

Oddly, I'm listening to Flashdance "What a feeling". It's fitting.

Gorgeous pastel colors. This is so cute, and when I read that you were listening to 'Flashdance', it made it all that much cuter!

Once you start on 300lb paper it's REALLY hard to go back isn't it?? The convenience makes up for the extra cost I think. your work is absolutely LOVELY.
I love this! So sweet and wonderful! Her crown is perfect.

This is so pretty. I love how you let the water colour just do it's own magical thing on the paper. Nicely done!
