Summer poem

Bed in Summer

~Robert Louis Stevenson

In Winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle light.
In Summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.

I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

Hi Emily,

True post! I found myself so sleepy today and as I laid down for a nap to float into "dreamland" for a bit I would open my eyes from time to time to see all the trees outside blowing in the breeze in the clear blue sky and hear the birds chirping and flying by. It gave me a very peaceful feeling. Which we all need more of!

I am continuing my "Stop The Wars" Blog Protest and have new Posts..so I hope you will free to drop by and add a comment again if you feel like it...

Many Blessings, for world peace and love love love for one another!
